The Heart Nebula is a gorgeous emission nebula, located 7,500 light years from earth. At its center is an open cluster containing several stars, each more than 50 times the mass of the Sun. These hot stars create a stellar wind that is responsible for shaping the ionized hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur gases within the nebula into this beautiful shape. This image was generated from a composite of 187 two-minute long exposures, collected on November 6, 2023.
